Wow, after joining the Guild of Photographers last month, I have been honoured to receive three of their prestigious awards already. I have been on cloud nine since I heard the news and feel rather proud of myself. But just what do these awards mean? ……..

Well it means an awful lot in the world of Photography and even more to me. A selection of my images were entered into the competition and judged by a full panel of highly experienced judges, who grade them in accordance with international judging criteria. Everything is taken into account from posing, lighting, styling, you name it it was judged. The highest scoring images have the chance to win a bronze, silver or gold bar.

So I have now been awarded a Bronze bar for three of my images and classified for the additional 6 that were entered. These awards are not easy to achieve and are highly sort after in the Industry. In the words of the Guild “it’s tough to have an image ‘Classified’ at this level, never mind get a Bronze award”

I am super proud of my achievements and cannot wait to capture some more award winning images in the next coming months.
